Piazza San Marco is the largest square and the main meeting point in Venice. The square is home to the Doge's Palace, the Basilica of San Marco, the Nuove and the Procuratie Vecchie. Other attractions in this area are the Venetian pigeons and the Bridge of Sighs that connects Doge’s Palace. The square is lined by shops, cafes and numerous museums. The square is on a higher ground, which means it offers great views of the city’s architecture as well as the sea.
